Stony Plain is an agricultural centre just 15 minutes west of Edmonton on Highway 16. Early settlers were attracted by plentiful water, fish and game in 1881. In 1892, the community's name was changed from Dogrump Creek to Stony Plain. 16 murals around the town's "Heritage Walk" depict the town's history.
